Lunch Menu for Oct. 15th-19th:

Monday: Chicken Sandwich or Pizza Burger, Tater Tots, Milk

Tuesday: Spaghetti or Tangerine Chicken, Rice, Corn, Milk

Wednesday: Sub Sandwich or Peanut Butter Uncrustable, Chips, Cookie, Milk

Thursday: Taco Salad or Chicken Fajitas, Refried Beans, Sherbet, Milk

Friday: Macaroni & Cheese or Philly Steak Sandwich, Sauteed Zucchini, Milk



Parents – Remember to check your Skyward Family Access often for important reminders and information.  Family Access is a great tool to stay current on your student’s grades, food service balance and attendance.  And please remember, if your child is absent from school due to illness, they are not allowed to attend any after school activities. 


Now Flood Relief:  There is a need for the following items for those families in our district who were affected by recent flooding.  If you can supply any of the following items to help out our families, please contact Miss Holte at or Nidia Alcantar at  Items are: radiant space heaters (oil filled), dehumidifiers, Damp Rid, area rugs.  If you wish to make a monetary donation, please contact Miss Holte.  A fund has been set up at a local bank in order to help our local families. 


Ethel & Donald Dechant, parents to Norwalk resident, Barb Ornes, have donated $100 to our NOW Flood relief account!  Lenny Bakken from Edward Jones Financial in Tomah has also contributed 2 dehumidifiers to the cause.  We greatly appreciate your generosity!


The Brookwood FFA & Blood Center of Wisconsin will be hosting a blood drive at Brookwood on Wednesday, October 17th from 10:30am-3:30pm.  To schedule an appointment, please visit or call Mrs. Watters @ 337-4401. Walk-ins are welcome!  If you donate blood in October, you will be automatically entered to win a tailgate package to see the Green & Gold @ Lambeau Field!! 


There will be an “Old Fashioned BARN DANCE” on Saturday, Oct. 20th, in the Brookwood Classic Gym!  A meal will be served from 5-6 pm, music w/ Tor & Friends from 6-7, and from 7-10 pm a dance with caller Sue Hulsether!  All kinds of dances will be taught, including squares, contras and reels.  No experience, partners, or costumes needed!  All is FREE but donations to go towards flood relief are appreciated.  Hope to see y’all there!


The Falcon Booster Club will be sponsoring a Flag Football Tournament at the Wilton Community Center on October 20th, for kids in grades 1-6.  Help is needed in the concession area, referees and donation of baked goods.  Forms will be available in the Elementary School to sign teams up.  Any questions, call Lori Brueggen at (608)435-6512.  Let us know where you can help out!


The Village of Wilton will have its annual Oktoberfest on Sunday, October 21st.  Admission is FREE!  There will be music by Gary’s Ridgeland Dutchmen and Leather & Lace from noon to 5, food, beverages and raffles.  The Wilton Lions Club will be serving Chicken dinners from 11:30-5 (includes mac salad, bun, beans) for $9.00 each (must reserve in advance) or BBQ and chips for $4.00.  You can reserve your chicken dinners by going to the Wilton Lions Club facebook page or Kari Leis, Mike O’Rourke, Lori Brueggen, or Nick-Reina Coleman. 


Community Christmas Choir practice will be starting up on Wednesday, October 17th starting at 6:30 p.m. at Faith Congregational Church in Wilton.  Deb Anderson is running it & looking for people who love to sing and have a good time doing it!  She has some new and exciting music this year!  If you have any questions, please give Deb Anderson a Call @ (608) 633-2116 or email her @ Hope to see you all there!

The closing of school because of emergency conditions will be announced on the following radio and television stations:  Radio-WCOW 97.1 FM, WIZM 93.3 FM, WBOG 94.5 FM, WVRO 102 FM Television-WKBT La Crosse Channel 8, WXOW La Crosse Channel 19.  It will also be posted on our Facebook page.

  • & The library is looking for your old fall photographs for the library system’s ECHO (Exploring Cultural History Online) Project.We would like to scan your pre-1974 (think black & white) images of fall harvest, hunting, leaf piles or Thanksgiving dinner.This will preserve your image and make it available to anyone via this project and Recollection Wisconsin.You will receive bragging rights and full recognition for your picture and we will return your image to you immediately upon scanning.Thanks for sharing!
  • & Save the date!Larry Scheckel will be introducing his new book: Murder in Wisconsin:The Clara Olson Case at 10:30 on Halloween morning.Sound like a creepy way to celebrate the holiday?Perhaps.Clara was a pretty, devout Norwegian Lutheran farm girl when a smooth-talking college boy named Erdman Olson swept her off her feet.As the title suggests, things don’t exactly end well for our Clara.Scheckel spent three years researching this high-profile “Murder of the Century” and people in Vernon & Crawford Counties are still telling the story that happened a generation ago.
  • & On October 16th we will be starting with chess club at 4 and rolling into Ms. Drohman’s family game night from 5-7.All families of school age children are welcome and we especially encourage those families of 4K children to join us!
  • & Our homeschool group will meet on Oct. 26th from 2-4.Please contact the library if you are interested in joining this co-operative effort.
  • & Or next Chess Club is Oct. 16th at 4pm.We will be making plans to watch a bit of the World Chess Championship together at the library in November – How fun is that?Players of all levels of experience are invited to attend.If you have a chessboard bring it along.

The Safety Patrol fundraiser items have arrived!  Patrol Members are in the process of delivering them.


Junior High Basketball practice begins on Monday, October 22.  7th & 8th graders who plan to play, but did not participate in a fall sport, see Mr. Clinton right away!


Sign - up sheets for high school students planning to participate in Girls Basketball, Boys basketball, Wrestling, or Winter Cheer are now in the HS Office.  Please sign up by October 17th.
